Portugal South Coast - Lisbon to Spanish Border

Lousal's old pyrite mine (iron sulphide) was active in 1900 but has since closed down. It is now set up with information boards and viewpoints (top) and one of the old steam trains and carriages sit on a highpoint silouetted against the surrounding countryside (bottom). With the mine closed they are now turning to tourism.
